The „Wagyu” word comes from Japanese, where Wa = Japanese and Gyu = beef. This race, bred in Japan, has been known as Kobe beef for a long time.  These animals have been used for many years, mainly for work, as versatile transport and cargo animals, also used in field work.

Wagyu is genetically pre-disposed for storage of inter-muscular fat and formation of the so called marble pattern. The fat is deposited between muscles, however, the later of subcutaneous and peritoneal fat is very thin.

Wagyu beef is commonly known as “caviar” among beef. This race is also known as one of the few fed with beer during fattening. The bulls should also be massaged using a scrubbing brush, accompanied by classical music.
